SUNDAY COFFEE HOUR SPONSORSHIP

The Sunday Coffee Hour Fellowship is a lovely time for parishioners to greet family and friends following the Divine Liturgy. However, the expenses of the pastries have been increasing. Therefore, the cost of sponsoring the fellowship will now be $100 (the cost of the pastries alone is $72 per week). A question that often arises: Why does the fee remain the same even when there are several sponsors on a particular Sunday? The reason is that this helps to defray the cost for the many coffee hours during the year where there are no sponsors. We do encourage parishioners to sponsor a fellowship coffee hour which will be recognized in the Sunday Bulletin as follows:

Again, we must bring to your attention and consideration regarding Hospital Visitations. If you or a family member are admitted in a hospital, please notify the Church Office so Father Pat and the Philoptochos are aware of your hospitalization

3rd SOUVLAKI FEST
By popular demand of the public we are holding our 3rd Annual Souvlaki Festival on September 18th and 19th (see flyer in this issue). So pass the word around to your family, friends and neighbors to come and enjoy our popular mini Greek Festival.

CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE  PROGRAM & TRAINING
On Tuesday, September 29th at 7:00 PM we will be presenting a mandatory "Child Sexual Abuse Awareness Training Class for all clergy, volunteers, church personnel, educators and parents/grandparents with children under the age of 18, and for those who are regularly involved with minors throughout the year. The presentation will be conducted by Karen Takes Pappis, Licensed Master Social Worker. Volunteers need to attend only one training session (if you already attended a mandatory class at St. Sophia, you need not attend but are welcome to come for a refresher and updates). All attendees will sign in and certify that they have attended the session. This form will be maintained in individual volunteer files, along with the mandated application and code of conduct forms. Registration forms are available in and outside the Church Office.

GREEK SCHOOL AFTERNOON PROGRAM ADULT PROGRAM
Please visit the St. Sophia website www.stsophiagreekschool.org/ for detailed information of the Greek School programs –both afternoon and adult. Located on the website are registration forms, when and where the various classes meet, and a detailed calendar. You may also contact the Church Office or Kiki Maglaras.
