Χριστός Ανέστη!!! – Christ is Risen!!!

With Easter being so late, spring has finally arrived. Let me begin thanking those who chaired our events in the months of March and April.

The Lenten Luncheon, hosted by Vickie Lembesis and her committee, was a huge success. So successful, we had close to 50 attendees.

Sunday of Orthodoxy’s Vesper Service Fellowship was hosted by Margaret Danes and Amy Spellos. I must say that it was a HUGE success. That night I received many compliments from our visiting guests of the Orthodox churches on how excellent the service was, and the food that was prepared by our Philoptochos Society. Thank you ladies – a job well done. Also, a thank you to Ted Kondoprias for his famous lentil soup.

A BIG THANK YOU to all who contributed and brought many items for our garage sale. This garage sale is pure profit for our organization, and you made it happen. Our new café which Cookie Patelos ran with her crew was sold out – thank you. In addition our famous pastries were also sold out. Thank you Dora Mokhiber and Virginia Cholakis for chairing this and thank you to all the ladies who baked. To all of the hard workers behind and in front of the scenes thank you. See you again next year…

I would like to thank Maria Patelos and her crew for taking charge of the Agape Service. Thank you, Cookie.

Due to the Festival schedule, we will not be having a Philoptochos meeting in May. Our next meeting will be held June 10th, in which I will be hosting dinner and dessert. As this is our last meeting of the year, we will be planning the 2008-09 calendar. Join us for a great feast.
