"NIGHT SHIFT" – VOLUNTEER DRIVERS FOR SENIORS
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to drive seniors to evening activities here at church such as meetings, services, dinners, and other evening activities. Although many seniors drive during the day, a good number are not comfortable driving after dark. This, of course, limits their evening activities and curtails their involvement in church programs. If you are willing to sign up to be on a list of volunteer drivers, please call the church office. And, if you are a senior in need of occasional transportation, please call the office. Then, if there is sufficient interest on both parts, we will develop a "telephone tree" to match seniors with drivers. This is an opportunity to both give and receive. For as we give, our community will gain from the participation, experience, and knowledge of our senior members.

SENIOR EXERCISE
The City of Albany had resumed the popular senior exercise program here at St. Sophia on September 21st. The group meets every week on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:00 AM.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
The Men’s Basketball program is available to all men ages high school and up. The group meets on Monday evenings at 6:30 PM. Please call George Kotsakis at 368-3254 if you are interested in participating.

SENIOR PROGRAM LUNCHEON OCTOBER 22nd

HALLOWEEN PARTY October 25th
The Sons of Pericles and Maids of Athena are once again sponsoring the Halloween Party (see flyer in this issue). It is an event you should not overlook. This group every year puts on a great party for all. So come in costume, view the haunted house (if you dare), and enjoy the games and treats.

THANKSGIVING DANCE
Our annual Thanksgiving Dance is still being finalized. However, the day has changed from Saturday to Friday. George Sokaris, the chairperson of the event, again promises a memorable evening. [See flyer in thisissue.] So mark your calendar for Friday, November 27th.

SUNDAY COFFEE HOUR SPONSORSHIP
The Sunday Coffee Hour Fellowship is a lovely time for parishioners to greet family and friends following the Divine Liturgy. However, the expenses of the pastries have been increasing. Therefore, the cost of sponsoring the fellowship will now be $100 (the cost of the pastries alone is $72 per week). A question that often arises: Why does the fee remain the same even when there are several sponsors on a particular Sunday? The reason is that this helps to defray the cost for the many coffee hours during the year where there are no sponsors. We do encourage parishioners to sponsor a fellowship coffee hour which will be recognized in the Sunday Bulletin as follows:
