Dear friends, family and army of workers of the St. Sophia Greek Festival,


Yes, it is that time again. Time, once again, for us to invite thousands of guests to the 2008 Greek Festival – Friday, May 16 | Saturday, May 17 | and Sunday, May 18 – and share our Greek culture with residents of the capital district and beyond.


Last year’s festival was a great success, and I thank everyone for their hard work and dedication in making it one of the most profitable yet. I continue to look for ways to minimize expenses to increase our overall profit margin.


I have identified 3 areas where you as community members can help maximize the Festival’s profit.

 

1.   The Journal - This year will mark the 4th year the journal will be published. This journal is given to every person who attends our Festival and is filled with great information about our church and community. I look forward to seeing those who have participated continue to support the journal, and I would love to see new community members and local businesses join the publication.

 

Enclosed is a journal book order form, we would like to have all submissions and creative by February 29th to enable us to have the book complete by the end of March.

 

2.   Sponsorship/Donation of Festival Products & Supplies – as much product as we can get sponsored or donated will help cut our overall costs tremendously. Perhaps you or a group would like to donate one of the items listed on the attached sheet. Take a look at each item and the cost and let me know if you can help.

 

3/  Volunteer your services: As you know the various chair-people are always looking for volunteers, as manpower is our greatest issue. We need a lot of people to make the show go. Please fill out the volunteer form and send it back to the church and I will forward your information to the various chairs. This form is for all volunteers so if you’ve been part of the Souvlaki team and want to keep your same shift let us know, or if you want to try something new that’s great too.
